Who We Are
Our Mission
The mission of IMIT is to train and certify learners in fields of industry certification and professional body qualifications of international repute and also to offer short course training on pertinent value adding skills that facilitate decent employment for the trainee. Generally, we train in fields of management, finance, information technology and business software applications. To fulfill this mission, we work with reputable international professional bodies like the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Association of Business Managers and Administrators (ABMA Education Ltd), the global Cisco Networking academy, Project Management Institute (PMI), just to name some. We administer international exams of these professional and certifying bodies and many other exams under licenses from CIPS, ACCA, ABMA Education Ltd, Nextec (PSI and PAN exams) and Pearson Vue.
What We Do
TRAINING
We train in various fields of Business and of Information & Communication Technologies with focus on:
- Internationally reputable professional credentials in Accountancy(ACCA), Project Management (CAPM and PMP), Computer Network Engineering (through our Cisco Networking Academy), Database Administration (Oracle) etc
- Bachelor’s Degree level Professional Diplomas accredited by the UK government’s office of qualifications “Ofqual’ awarded by the Association of Business Managers and Administrators (ABMA)
- Hands-on operational training for Vocational qualifications of the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training (MINEFOP)
- Hands-on training on software applications such as SAP and Sage Saari
- Hands-on training on self-employment oriented training such as Web Development, Computer Software/Hardware maintenance
- Self-paced e-learning which is available 24H/24, 7/7 in such fields of study as Internet of things (IoT), Cyber Security, Network Technology, Programming, etc
EXAM DELIVERY
We administer computer based exams and paper-based exams under licenses from:
CIPS: for qualifications of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply,ACCA: for exams leading to qualification as Chartered certified Accountant,
ABMA: Education Ltd for exams leading to qualifications in Softawere Engineering, Computer Engineering, Shipping & Logistics,
Nextec (PSI): for exams of Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), the American College Test (ACT) for persons seeking admission to American Universities, Amazon Web Services test (AWS), etc.
Pearson Vue: for industry certification exams of Cisco, Oracle, Exin, CIMA, Microsoft, etc.
Our History
The Institute of Management and Information Technology (IMIT) was created in 2008 and first authorized by the government of Cameroon in 2009, IMIT has worked hard to gain recognition from major international professional bodies, industry certification awarding bodies and professional computer based exam management and delivery organisations.
In 2010 IMIT became a training partner of Cisco Inc.of the United States of America, becoming an acredited Cisco Networking Academy. Still in 2010, IMIT became a listed tuition provider of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) of the U.K.
In 2012, IMIT’s training in professional Project Management was accepted for the first time by the Project Management Institute (PMI) of the United States of America, permitting trainees of IMIT to take PMI’s certification exams for the CAPM and the PMP credentials.
In 2014, IMIT became a recognised tuition and examination center of the Association of Business Managers and Administrators (ABMA), of the United Kingdom. Still in 2014, IMIT merited the confidence of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and was made an on-demand computer based exam center for ACCA exams.
In 2015, IMIT became a licenced Pearson Vue computer based examination center for industry certification exams of various international professional and certifying bodies.
In 2016, IMIT became the first approved tuition provider of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), U.K, in the central African sub region. Still in 2016, IMIT became a partner of Nextec, licensed to deliver PSI computer based exams.
In 2018, IMIT became the first ever approved tuition center of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) of the United Kingdom, in Cameroon and Francophone Africa. In 2019, IMIT gained the confidence of CIPS and was licensed as an exam center for CIPS exams (both computer based and paper based).
Today, IMIT is working with the global Cisco Networking Academy to promote the world-wide digital and cyber skills campaign in Cameroon. The campaign is sponsored by Cisco Inc. in the context of its corporate social responsibity and in the wake of an upsurge in the need for digital and cyber skills in an information technology-driven world that is drifting towards virtualization through the internet. IMIT hopes that through this campaign, students and other youths in Cameroon will be raised to the same level of digital literacy as their counterparts in other parts of the world.
